The Difference with Resiplank Floors

Resiplank is a premium vinyl flooring product, carefully created to give you the texture and beauty of natural timber designs. Resiplank floors are an LVP/LVT flooring product, which refers to luxury vinyl plank floors.

These floors are the perfect choice in flooring for alluring floors on rental property, residential project or on a budget.

Luxury Vinyl Plank Flooring

Vinyl floors are made of plastic. In luxury vinyl plank flooring, there are 4 layers that you can expect in every plank.

  1. Wear Layer – A protective transparent layer on the top that prevents wear and tear such as scratches or fading.
  2. Decorative Design – The design that vinyl floors hold is carried on this layer. A high definition image that is adhered to the vinyl core.
  3. Vinyl Core – This layer is the most prominent layer in a luxury vinyl plank floor. It’s both totally flexible and waterproof.
  4. Backing Layer – The bottom finishing vinyl layer aids support to the rest of the build, with properties that prevent mould, fungi, and mildew.

Resiplank floors go beyond the scope here, with 7 layers for a premium product. Adding an extra PU topcoat, sound absorption layer, and fibreglass stabilisation. Backed with a vinyl layer that prevents curling or cupping floors.

Resiplank’s Ecotecture® Multi-layer Technology

Resiplank floors also have the benefit of Ecotecture’s® multi-layer technology, with a PU topcoat infused with minerals to aid the floors with greater strength. That means that Resiplank floors have superior protection when it comes to wear, tear, and even UV lighting; something that vinyl floors are usually more suscept to.

Giving you premium wood-like floors that don’t fade or discolour from prolonged sun exposure. It also makes these floors exceptional stability, with enhanced sound absorption properties.

Resiplank floors come in different levels of PU topcoat thickness for added stability.

100% Recyclable Floors

Resiplank floors can be entirely recycled at the end of their use. Either to create more Resiplank products or back into PVC to be used elsewhere.

Vinyl vs Laminate Floors

Compared to laminate, Vinyl is considered the superior choice in durability. As vinyl is made with plastic, vinyl floors are both water and heat resistant. Making them suitable for outdoor areas as well as moisture-prone areas inside. They are also easy to maintain and keep clean, as you can go over them with a wet mop.

Laminate floors often are considered a better choice when it comes to accurately imitative timber flooring designs. The embossing method allows for a more 3D high definition finish. They aren’t as practical for more moisture-prone environments however, as they are made with a layer of real wood fibre.

Laminate floors and luxury vinyl planks are generally comparative in their aesthetic. Therefore, we always encourage those browsing to come into our showroom and see these products in person.
